Fushun wax is a kind of mineral wax, but also a kind of petroleum wax. Wax residue, is through solvent refining, solvent dewaxing or wax freezing crystallization distillation, pressure dewaxing and wax paste, and then remove solvent wax residue. Oil or refined sheet or needle crystal. Also known as crystalline wax, a mixture of hydrocarbons of about 18 to 30 carbon numbers, mainly straight-chain alkanes (about 80 to 95 percent), with a few alkanes having separate branches and long side chains. Monocyclic cycloalkanes (less than 20% combined). The main quality indicators are melting point, which indicates heat resistance, and oil content, which indicates purity. Each wax is divided into different varieties according to the melting point, usually every 2°C, e.g. 52, 54, 56, 58, etc. According to the degree of processing and refining, it can be divided into three types: fully refined paraffin, semi-refined paraffin and crude paraffin. Among them, the first two are widely used, mainly as components and packaging materials for food and other commodities (such as wax paper, crayons, candles, carbon paper), coatings for baking containers, cosmetic materials, fruit preservation, and improving rubber endurance. Ageing and increased flexibility, insulation of electrical parts, casting etc can also be used for oxidation to synthesize fatty acids. Due to its high oil content, crude paraffin is mainly used in the manufacture of matches, fiberboards, canopies and so on. When polyolefin additives are added to paraffin wax, the melting point increases and the adhesion and flexibility increase. It is widely used for moisture-proof and waterproof wrapping paper, cardboard, surface coating of certain textiles and candle production.

Paraffin wax is very versatile. After the paper is immersed in paraffin wax, a variety of waxed paper with good waterproof performance can be obtained, which can be used in food, medicine and other packaging, metal rust prevention and printing industry; When wax is added to cotton yarn, the textile can become soft, smooth and elastic. Paraffin can also be used to prepare detergents, emulsifiers, dispersants, plasticizers and oils. Most of today's candles are made from paraffin wax, as resources for animal and vegetable wax become increasingly strained. Paraffin wax melts when heated and glows when the candle burns, giving off black smoke and heat.
